Image comics announces ‘THE FIELD’ from Ed Brisson and Simon Roy.
After discovering his righteousness across the pages of Prophet, I’m pretty much ready to ride and die with Simon Roy. So when word comes that he’s teaming up with Ed Brisson for a mini-series after at Image…I’m both jacked. And pumped.
Image Expo is over, but that doesn’t mean the publisher is out of announcements. If you just finished getting caught up on all the upcoming projects revealed at the show (no judgment on taking two weeks – it was a long list), then you’re just in time for the latest Image announcement: The Field. A four issue miniseries from creators Ed Brisson and Simon Roy, The Field promises to feature, among other things, an ex-bible salesman, dirty sex, meth, and at least a murder or two.
From Image’s press release:
A man wakes in a field wearing nothing but his underwear. He’s got no idea who he is or how he got there. His only connection to the outside world a cell phone on which he receives mysterious texts warning him of impending danger. Danger like Christian, an ex-bible sales-man in the middle of a crime spree fueled by Christian Rock, dirty sex, meth and murder.
Brisson, whose writing credits include Dia De Los Muertos and Secret Avengers, and among other titles, spoke to ComicsAlliance about the upcoming project, focusing primarily on how pleased he is to be collaborating with Prophet artist Roy. “I’ve known Simon since 2008 and we’ve worked on a few shorter projects in the past, “says Brisson, “most notably I helped publish the first incarnation of Jan’s Atomic Heart in 2009 and he drew the first two Murder Book stories in 2010. He and I have been talking for years about working on a project together, so it’s great that we’re finally getting the chance to do it on The Field.”
