Lead ‘WORLD OF WACRAFT’ designer has joined Riot Games

World of Warcraft.

The lead dude behind World of Warcraft has joined Riot Games. You may know The Rioting Gamers as the company who has created that League of Legends game. Which is like — way huge. But I don’t really know about it. You see, I’m old as shit. Once you get me past Super Mario Worlds 2D, I’m pretty much useless. I do know that Warcraft World game though. Took the better part of my twenties. Just drinking Dew, rotting my brain, and jacking off furiously between raid wipes. The good old days.

Wait, what is this post about again?

Former World of Warcraft lead systems designer Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street has joined Riot Games, the company behind League of LegendsHis new position is lead game designer, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Street quit Blizzard in November following five years as one of the most prominent public-facing figures on the World of Warcraft development team. As lead systems designer, he and his team were responsible for building and changing the fundamentals of the way World of Warcraft plays, including classes, game mechanics, items, trade skills and user interface.

Prior to his tenure at Blizzard, Street worked for just under a decade at Ensemble Studios, serving as a designer on numerous Age of Empires titles and as lead designer on Age of Empires 3.

Oh yeah, cool. Far thee well, Ghostcrawler. You pretty much ruined my early adult hood, but I had a gay old time during those ruinous years. Good luck. God bless.
