Alamo Drafthouse BANS MADONNA from its theaters FOR TEXTING. So awesome.

So good. Madonna’s super-cut ass has been banned from Alamo Drafthouse’s theaters after texting during 12 Years A Slave. The best part? When someone tried to suggest she cut that fucking shit out, she decided to call them an “enslaver.” Can’t make this shit up.

OK so this is kinda rich and you may have heard this story already, but in case you haven’t, well, the irony is just too delicious to pass up. Last week during the New York Film Festival, Madonna was caught texting during Steve McQueen’s “12 Years A Slave.” A painful, brutal, unflinching film about the horrors of slavery starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt and many more. When one audience member called out the Material Girl and asked politely to please stop texting, she had the gall to yell at the person and call them a particular type of 19thcentury tyrant. “It’s for business … enslaver!” she shrieked and then continued to text. A poor choice of words, and extremely poor taste, if there ever was such a thing.

Madonna is well, Madonna, and nothing’s going to change her, but we do think its extra funny that she went to pose with Steve McQueen sometime before or during the gala screening (see above, oh dear). Some people just couldn’t stomach it and the Alamo Drafthouse—known for their severe and strict policy towards texters, talking audience members and other jackasses who disrupt movies (read: they are completely intolerant of these people and we’re fine with that)—have issued a ban. Sure, it’s largely just a symbolic one (like she’s ever going to see an arthouse movieunless it’s “W.E,“), but until Ms. Ciccone/Ex. Mrs. Guy Ritchie makes an remorseful statement, it’s now the Drafthouse policy to not let her in any of their theaters.

“Until she apologizes to movie fans, Madonna is banned from watching movies,” Drafthouse head honcho Tim League tweeted late last week. No comment from Madonna or her camp yet, but we’d suspect we’re probably not going to get one. After all this is a woman who threatened to stop an outdoor concert once because the audience was smoking (outside) and it was affecting her precious vocal chords.
