KELLY SUE DECONNICK and WARREN ELLIS co-writing ‘AVENGERS ASSEMBLE.’
Hey! Who needs new Doktor Sleepless when Ellis can churn out yet another fucking Avengers title, am I rite? Eh, who am I kidding. Bitterness aside, I’m sure I’ll enjoy this little ditty.
So this is cool. Bestselling Gun Machine novelist and acclaimed comic book writer Warren Ellis is making a return to monthly cape comics for the first time since he concluded his Secret Avengers run last year, and it’s as Kelly Sue DeConnick’s co-writer for a special Avengers Assemble arc tying in to Marvel’s next crossover event, Inhuamnity.
A ComicsAlliance favorite for her work on Captain Marvel, DeConnick has stated that Ellis (Transmetropolitan, Planetary, Nextwave) is her favorite comics writer, making the announcement fairly auspicious for everyone involved. Drawn by Matteo Buffagni, the arc begins in November’s Avengers Assemble #21, which DeConnick scripts solo. Ellis joins her for the remainder of the arc, which concludes in issue #25. Please note that each issue number is modified with a “point-INH,” indicating it’s a tie-in to the bigger Inhumanity event.
