MATT KINDT helming Marvel’s ‘INHUMANITY: THE AWAKENING.’ Eccellente!
I’ll give Marvel this. If they’re going to attempt to manufacture viable movie franchises out of their lesser known titles due tp necessity since they don’t own the film rights to half their properties, they’re doing it well. I mean, stacking indie glory Matt Kindt on an Inhumans title? Fuck yes.
Marvel Comics has released details on two issues dropping this December as tie-ins to “Inhumanity”: “Inhumanity: The Awakening” by Matt Kindt and Paul Davidson, as well as a new “Inhumanity” tie-in arc of “New Avengers” by Jonathan Hickman andS imone Bianchi.
“Inhumanity: The Awakening” spins out of the events of Kindt’s “Infinity: The Hunt,” which debuts this week, and explores what the effects of “Inhumanity” mean for the youths of the Marvel Universe.
“Think back to when you were 16 and the things that you used to define yourself,” editor Bill Rosemann told Marvel.com. “Things like your family, your history and where you come from. Now imagine if one day you realize everything you know about yourself is wrong–and, oh yeah, you have spikes sprouting up all over your body and your hands spray acid. … It’s up to the students of the Avengers Academy and the Jean Grey School to save these young adults before they destroy everything around them.”
As Kindt explores the effect of “Inhumanity” on the younger generation of the Marvel U, Hickman takes on the senior Inhumans in “New Avengers” #13.INH. According to Hickman’s comments in the Marvel.comannouncement of the arc, both Black Bolt and Maximus will change “as radically as you can with them both still being the Inhumans and not dead.”
“Which is good, as I really like writing Black Bolt and Maximus,” Hickman continued. “The cool thing about ‘New Avengers’ is that we see how actions in the Marvel Universe trickle out and affect other universes.”
Both “Inhumanity: The Awakening” #1 and “New Avengers” #13.INH debut this December.
