‘TWINS’ sequel with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito and…Eddie Murphy will exist.
I don’t think I can enjoy anything with Arnold in it, ever since I saw his balls that one day at the beach. Big, ripped, furious veins all over his scrotum, swirling like runes that foretold the fall of man. Plus, even if I could, it certainly wouldn’t be this movie.
Play List:
It’s no secret that the ’80s are back in a big way in Hollywood, and for proof look no further than the success of “The Expendables 2” and the countless remakes and reboots of Reagan-era franchises. That, however, doesn’t make it any less strange that a sequel to the 1988 Arnold Schwarzenegger andDanny DeVito-starring comedy, “Twins,” is in the works with Eddie Murphy as a long-lost brother. The studio has already tapped a pair of writers to tackle the story of “Triplets.”
“Book Of Mormon” star Josh Gad and Ryan Dixon (“Jackass: The Movie“) will team up for the treatment, but only Dixon will write an actual draft of the script, presumably because Gad will be busy with the upcoming NBC comedy “1600 Penn.” Ivan Reitman won’t be in the director’s chair this time around, opting for producer instead.
Despite living with the news of a sequel for eight months, we still can’t believe this is an actual project that’s being developed in 2012. It’s so bizarre that of all Schwarzenegger’s “comedies,” this is the property that’s been chosen. Where’s our “Jingle All The Way” sequel? The long-awaited conclusion to the 1990classic “Kindergarten Cop”?
Bizarre or not, “Triplets” is slowly making its way through the development process — there’s still no director attached — with the possibility that someone will finally come to their senses. [Deadline]
