‘TOY STORY 3’ Writer Michael Arndt In Talks To Re-write ‘HUNGER GAMES’ Sequel.
The mind behind Toy Story 3 may be brought on to punch up Catching Fire, the sequel to Everyone Loves A Good Adolescent Bloodbath (Games). Now if we could just get him to travel back in time to save the source novel.
Play List:
Lionsgate’s “Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire” is now packing some new heat. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Michael Arndt, who won an Oscar for his screenplay for “Little Miss Sunshine” and more recently wrote “Toy Story 3,” is being brought on board to polish the initial drafts that were written by “Slumdog Millionaire” and “127 Hours” writer Simon Beaufoy. “Catching Fire” is, of course, based on the second book in Suzanne Collins’ best-selling young adult series and will be the follow up to Gary Ross’ runaway smash from earlier this year.
Exciting. I’m glad to see Lionsgate willing to bring in some talent to jazz-up the script. At this point they could give it over to a cadre of typing monkeys and it would still rake in the bucks, so any extra move they make is appreciated.
