Hello there, fellow worker bees! Are you already sick of the workweek? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! The way the Man has it set up, we’re all supposed to hate our Monday through Friday responsibilities, those tasks that we must complete so that we can earn currency to exchange for the electricity and beer and buffalo wings that we enjoy on the weekends.
It’s hardly an ideal system.
But fear not, for this right here is the MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE! I’m going to show you the various ways I’ll be thwarting the advances of that spirit-crushing behemoth commonly referred to as Workweek Ennui! After you check out my snake-oils, hit up the comments section and display your own wares.

Listenin’ To/David Cross on WTF!
I’ve been listening to Marc Maron’s WTF Podcast since last fall, and I generally enjoy every episode. Sure, there’re some duds here and there, but Maron’s neuroses and all-too-apparent insecurities can make even interviews with lamer comedians entertaining. But what I really love are those episodes that feature entertainers of whom I’m actually a fan.
Which brings us to today’s WTF, consisting of an interview with David Cross. This man earned my respect with his portrayal of Tobias Funke, but he’s kept it with an incredible body of work. Don’t be a butthead and go, “That guy from Alvin & the Chipmunks?!” Yes, that’s David Cross. But he’s also responsible for some hilarious standup specials, Mr. Show, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, and countless other bits of ha-ha funny-time.
Also, the dude has a reputation for having done a nearly Thompsonian amount of drugs. Should make for a solid interview.

Watchin’/The Playoffs! (NHL)
This week sees the return of the greatest sport on the planet – playoff hockey!
Now, I’m certainly pulling for the Boston Bruins. Having grown up in the Greater Boston Area with hockey-nuts for a father and brother, I know what it means to bleed black and gold. But after watching Chara hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup last June, I’m not going to be greedy. So, I’m hoping for a repeat, but certainly not expecting it.
And hell, there’re going to be plenty of other series to watch.
For instance, I’m sure I’m going to spend a fair amount of time watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers whomp each other. Although I respect individual players from both squads, I’m not really on board with either team. With that being said, there’s been no shortage of animosity between these teams, so I suspect they’re both going to wield every style of play at their disposals, from the pretty technical stuff to the brutal aggression.

Goin’ (Goin’ Back)/(Back) To Cali!
On Saturday I’m heading out to Santa Monica. I don’t know what else to say other than I’m planning on spending the better part of a week drinking, eating, and soaking in the great weather.
