Hideo Kojima’s Next Game Is Set In ‘Very Open World’, No Word On Philosophical Vomiting.
Hideo Kojima was on CNN recently promoting his metaphysical vitamin supplement called Scissors 61! (this is a lie) and he began to talk about his next game codenamed Project Ogre.
Kotaku:
Hideo Kojima, creator and curator of the Metal Gear franchise, sure loves a tease. Speaking with CNN recently, he starts to get into details about his upcoming game, then like all good teases do, pulls up short just before you get to the good stuff.
Having shown it off last week with APCs and women’s bras, Kojima says his next game, codenamed Project Ogre, is a different beast to what we expect from Metal Gear Games.
“The kind of game I’m making is some game that has a very wide entrance, a very open entrance,” he told CNN. “Rather than making something very cinematic, [I plan to] make something very free.”
The report adds that the game is “set in a very open world where players can wander around and explore freely”, and that “players should still be able to find new sights and worthwhile adventures after having played the game for as many as 100 hours”.
We’ll see, right? Curious what an open-ended game with two-hour cut scenes will look like.
