iOS Game Helps Disabled Girl Get Operation Allowing Her To Walk. Future x Charity = Awesome.
Grace Windrum is a five-year old with cerebral palsy. Her parents needed £50,000 (I don’t know what that translates to in American Empire credits) for an operation that would allow her to walk with crutches for the first time. That’s where Big Ideas Digital came in.
Kotaku:
Grace Windrum, a five-year-old girl from the United Kingdom, suffers from cerebral palsy. At the moment, she’s unable to walk. But thanks to a charity drive from an iOS game publisher, she may soon be able to.
Grace’s parents need £50,000 to pay for an operation in a US hospital that will almost certainly enable her to walk, with the assistance of crutches, for the first time in her life.
Having raised £22,268 themselves, Big Ideas Digital ran a promotion for its Say What You See: The Collection puzzle game (available on iPhone and iPad), which contributed a further £21,000, leaving Grace on the brink of receiving her operation.
Pretty fucking awesome.
