‘Sonic Generations’ Pre-Orders Beating All Previous Sonic Titles. Will Still Suck.
Nuh-uh. You can’t trick me. Sonic has let me down consistently for a decade. I thought it was going to be back with Sonic 4, and then even that sucked. So the fact that Sonic Generations has pre-sales like a mofuckah’? Don’t mean a thing.
Sega has announced that Sonic Generations is breaking pre-order records. Specifically, Generations has officially “exceeded all previous pre-order records from the 20-year Sonic catalog, making it the most anticipated title in Sonic the Hedgehog’s iconic history.” For what it’s worth, we’re not really sure if you could pre-order games during the Genesis era, but that doesn’t exactly make for an exciting press release.
Sega also notes that Sonic’s 20th Anniversary — and thus Generations — has been heralded by several special events, including the construction of a Sonic-themed playground in Oakland, California, a promotion at Six Flags and the Sonic Boom party at E3. Here’s hoping Sega can truly honor the Blue Blur by delivering a game worthy of his glory days.
Stay strong. Stay. Strong.
