Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons Team Up For ‘Secret Service’. What A Waste Of Gibbons’ Talent.
Dave Gibbons is a fucking legend. Mark Millar is a guy who used to write good comic books but now is generally a sensationalist self-fellating fucking idiot. A couple of years ago their teaming up would have excited me, now I’m just hoping Gibbons will make some good money out of this.

CBR:
Initially announced back in November of last year, the long-simmering collaboration between Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons is finally ready to see the light of day. Wednesday in comic shops, readers picking up a copy of Millar and Leinil Yu’s “Superior” #6 will get an advance look at “The Secret Service” — a new Icon series crafted by the writer specifically for the legendary “Watchmen” artist.
And CBR News is happy to present an alternate version of that “Superior” teaser right now, including a first look at Gibbons’ work on the series:
“We don’t want to give too much away at this stage,” Millar told CBR. “We’ve got a charity auction to name the super-villain going live later today, but otherwise you won’t hear anything else about The Secret Service until the middle of November when ‘CLiNT’ #12 has a massive interview and preview of the series. Highlights of this will be revealed exclusively on CBR on the day of release, but the main promotion on the Millarworld 2012 books begins in January.”
Of course, “The Secret Service” isn’t the only book on tap from Millar’s Millarworld brand of creator-owned comics. “Our 2012 line-up includes ‘Kick-Ass 2’ with John Romita, ‘Supercrooks’ with Leinil Yu, ‘The Secret Service’ with Dave Gibbons, ‘Nemesis 2’ with Steve McNiven and a massive brand new superhero epic by Frank Quitely,” Millar reminded. “We’ll be previewing all these books in a massive CBR piece in January as I go full-time in Millarworld. But I don’t think there’s a company out there with as high a concentration of A-list artists as our plans for next year. It’s very exciting.”
Millar get some gorgeous artists to draw his utter bullshit these days, and they may be enough to get me to check it out. Gibbons? Quitely? McNiven? Hopefully one of them can help Millar pull his quasi-racist, totally-sexist head out of his fucking ass.
