‘Django Unchained’ Gets A Release Date. It’s A Christmas Flick!
When I think Christmas tales, I think of revenge flicks taking place on slave plantations across the south. Thankfully The Weinstein Company agrees with me.
Slashfilm:
Whether or not it stars Will Smith or Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz or Leonardo DiCaprio, The Weinstein Company has just claimed Christmas Day 2012 for Quentin. That’s the day they’ll release Quentin Tarantino‘s Western influenced film Django Unchained.
As of right now, Django is the only movie scheduled to open that day but it’ll also see competition from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (December 14, 2012) and Johnny Depp in Lone Ranger (December 21, 2012). Interestingly enough, December 25, 2012 also marks the fifteen year anniversary, to the day, of the release of Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction follow-up, Jackie Brown. Box Office Mojo first reported the release date.
I can’t wait. Like, literally. I’m forging a Time Machine. All I need is your souls.
