William Adama is one of my favorite characters. A lot of this has to do with the acting chops of Sir Edward James Olmos. So casting a young chap to play the Admiral in the Battlestar Galactica prequel Blood & Chrome is tremendous. Today over at io9, they dropped the dude who shall be playing him: Luke Pasqualino.
They also provided some casting info regarding Adama’s character description.
Pasqualino will star as the young, talented fighter pilot William Adama, a recent Academy graduate who finds himself assigned to the newest Battlestar in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly finds himself at odds with Coker (Cotton), the battle-weary officer to whom he reports. With 45 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it. Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine mission turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.
Judging from the image (courtesy of io9), I’m sold. Sure? Why not? I don’t know man. I made a resolution at the beginning of 2011 to kill the snark. I’m trying to keep some positivity going, until I’m pushed over the edge. I’m stamping this shit with my (meaningless) approval and hoping for the best.
